This little phoenix was inspired by the ones sometimes found on Russian lacquered boxes.

This is a one-color print that was hand-carved from a linoleum block and hand-printed on a Vandercook printing press. Then, embossing powder was sprinkled over the wet ink and heated by hand until it melted into a raised, metallic layer of gold. While difficult to photograph consistently, this is a shiny metallic yellow-gold print on true black cardstock. The print is approximately 4”x5”, and it ships in a clear plastic sleeve and a rigid cardboard mailer.

Note: While your print will look nearly identical to the photo in this listing, handmade prints sometimes contain minor imperfections. Additionally, prints that include embossing powder may sometimes have small flecks of gold outside the image area. That adds character, right?
